DuAll Heating & Cooling - Zoning

Looking for a home heating solution that is both efficient and adjustable for your needs? DuAll Heating & Cooling installs, repairs, and replaces all types of zone heating equipment in Bolingbrook, Naperville, Plainfield, and Romeoville. With zone control, you choose which areas of your home to heat or cool. Zoning saves energy and allows you to fine tune the interior climate to suit your family’s needs and lifestyle.

Heating and Cooling with Zone Control

Zoning works by directing the output from your furnace or central air conditioner into the air ducts that service a particular section of your home. The air ducts to the other parts of your home are closed off. For homes with hydronic (hot water) heating, and no central air conditioning, the hot water output from the boiler is directed to radiator pipes that service a section of the house. The pipes that travel to other parts of the house remain closed.

Your home can have as many different heating and cooling zones as you want. A typical home may have one zone for the upstairs bedrooms, one or two zones for the first floor kitchen, living room, and dining room, and a zone for the basement.

That means each zone must have a thermostat that senses the temperature and a zone controller on the furnace, boiler, or air conditioner that picks up the signal from the thermostat, turns the system on, and directs the conditioned air, or hot water, to that particular zone. Keeping your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer means the zone controls on the HVAC systems are constantly turning on and off, directing the conditioned air to where it’s needed at all times of the day.

Installation of Zone Control Systems in Bolingbrook

DuAll Heating & Cooling installs zone control equipment for all types of heating and cooling systems. Many of our customers in the Naperville area have wanted additional zones in their homes. For homes with forced air systems, adding another zone means installing another air duct circuit and damper control to the furnace and air conditioner. For homes with hot water systems it means adding more piping and another zone control to the boiler. Both installations also require adding a thermostat to the new zone.

DuAll Heating & Cooling’s certified technicians are fully trained to handle the entire installation, including zone controls, new piping or vents, and thermostats. We’ll make sure the work is done correctly and that all the plumbing, venting, and electrical work complies with code and manufacturer’s specifications. If you’re considering adding a new zone to heating and air conditioning system, call DuAll Heating & Cooling.
