I know it’s not much. Just enough to mess up the morning commute. But, we did set a record for the latest date to record at least an inch of snow. The last record was in 1899’s! Flip side; Does anyone remember 1967 in Chicago?

On a more serious note, we are pleased to say, that we were able to get to everyone thru this period of very cold weather. That included a couple of emergency furnace replacement installations, and more than a few late night repairs.

Commercial HVAC Tip: Advantages of a Commercial Rooftop Unit for My Building

Monday, January 21st, 2013

If you own a business in Bolingbrook, you’re likely very interested in making sure that the climate inside your building is always perfect. Keeping your business properly heated or cooled is critical to your success. There are many different types of commercial HVAC systems available. At DuAll Heating and Cooling, we’ve worked with businesses of all types in Bolingbrook helping them with their HVAC needs. We thought it would be helpful if we put together some of the advantages that rooftop units have.

Commercial Rooftop Unit Efficiency

Commercial rooftop HVAC systems in Bolingbrook generally have a very high rate of efficiency. This allows business owners heat and cool their business without breaking their bank. If you have a heating and air conditioning system that is costing you a lot of money, you may not be able to run it as often as you should to keep your customers, tenants or employees happy. This can cost your business or lower productivity.

Space Savings

Often, the square-footage inside of businesses is a premium. You want to make sure that you have enough space inside your building to be able to run your business well. The HVAC systems that are required to heat and cool your business are very large. Keeping them on the roof is a great way to save space on the ground and inside your business. This allows you to use that extra space for storage, offices or whatever else you need.

Rooftop Commercial HVAC System Durability

Some of our customers are skeptical of the durability of commercial HVAC system. However, like residential heating and air conditioning products, they have a lifespan of 15 to 20 years. This allows them to provide plenty of heating and cooling for your business.

Benefits of Commercial Rooftop HVAC System Maintenance

When you own a business, you want to make sure that every aspect of it is working well. Having a professional Bolingbrook commercial HVAC maintenance technician look over and repair your HVAC system regularly is a great way to make sure that your business’s climate stays the way you want it to.

Heating Tip: Why Is There No Heat In My Home?

Monday, January 14th, 2013

If you live in Naperville, then you know how important it is to have a good heating system. If your heater has stopped working, it can be miserable trying to keep warm in your home. That’s why DuAll Heating and Cooling works hard to provide complete Naperville heating services. For our customers in the Chicago and Naperville area, we thought it would be helpful to put together a quick list of some of the reasons why you might not be getting any heat in your home. If this is happening to you, make sure you contact DuAll Heating and Cooling if you don’t have any heat. We’ll send one of our trained technicians to your home to figure out what the problem is and offer a solution.

Clogged Air Filter

Believe it or not, one of the most common causes of furnace and heat pump problems is a clogged air filter. Without proper maintenance, the filter can get clogged with dirt and dust which restricts the flow of air into your home. When you call a heating contractor, one of the first places they may look is at your air filter.

Thermostat

Another common culprit of no heat is your thermostat. If the thermostat in your home has malfunctioned, it might be sensing that your home doesn’t need heat so it’s not turning on your heater. A visit from your Naperville heating contractor will be able to determine if that is the case.

Burner

If you have a gas-fired furnace or boiler, there could be an issue with the burner. If the pilot light has gone out there won’t be any heat. Additionally, there could be a problem with the thermocouple. The thermocouple is a safety device that detects if the pilot light is lit. If it detects heat, then it allows fuel to flow into the furnace. If it doesn’t detect heat, like when the pilot light goes out, it will shut off the flow of gas. If the thermocouple is malfunctioning, it could have inadvertently shut off the gas to your burner.

Fan

If the fan for your furnace or heat pump is broken, there won’t be anything to push the air through your home. This could be because the motor is broken or because the fan’s belt is broken. Either way, you should call a heating contractor as soon as possible to fix the problem.

If you have any of these problems or if you suspect that it is another issue, call DuAll Heating and Cooling for all your heating in Naperville needs today. Our technicians are highly trained and have experience repairing many different types and brands of heating systems. We’ll be able to figure out what the problem is, fix it and get you back up and running as soon as possible. Call us today!

Water Heater FAQ: What is the Right Water Heater for My Home?

Monday, January 7th, 2013

Your water heater is one of the most depended on appliances in your home and is in great demand throughout the day. We are so accustomed to having hot water come out of our pipes anytime we want it that we may forget that there is actually a machine in our basements or closets allowing that to happen. If you are in the market for a new hot water heater you have more choices than ever before. In order to ensure that you get the right water heater for your home, contact a Bolingbrook water heater professional.

At DuAll Heating & Cooling we are always happy to help our customers find the best hot water heater for their personal needs and hot water usage habits. The more information you have when you go to get your new water heater the more likely it is that you will get just the right one. Here are some things to consider.

The size of the water heater you need is a major deciding factor in finding the right one for your home. A professional service technician can help you find a properly sized water heater for your home. Do not let an over or undersized water heater reduce efficiency.

You will also have to decide between a tank or tankless water heater. Storage tank water heaters keep a reservoir of water hot at all times. Because they must continually heat this water, though, they are subject to standby energy losses. This problem is eliminated with tankless water heaters. When you open a hot water faucet cold water passes through the water heater and is heated on demand. This means that only the water being used is heated. If you have high water demands in your home, though, this type of water heater may be overwhelmed.

To be sure that you are purchasing the right water heater for your home in Bolingbrook, call DuAll Heating & Cooling. We will make sure that your new water heater is well suited to your needs and water heating habits. Work with a professional to be sure that you are getting the water heater you need and deserve.
